United Church of Canada

Welcome to our rural/urban charge in the village of Rockwood!

Although we worship in an historic stone church with deep roots in the past, our faith is moving forward in the new millennium. Rockwood United Church upholds tradition and recognizes the new inspirations that make our spiritual house nurturing, inclusive and exciting.

During services Rockwood’s choir offers up treats for the musical soul and, along with members of the Worship Committee, gears up for special event presentations throughout the year. Our Sunday School has teachers of all ages who are excited about each week’s lessons and incorporate crafts, games and presentations with Biblical stories to make learning a satisfying experience. The children enthusiastically present plays for the congregation’s enjoyment twice a year at Easter and Christmas. Our many events include popular chicken barbecues in June, welcome back Sunday School BBQ rallies in September, AIDS/HIV awareness campaigns, Christmas decorating parties, delicious luncheons and Sundae Sundays for ice cream lovers.

As many people attempt to put Spirit back into their lives, our United Church is a haven for nurturing and growth. We have an intriguing book club, youth group, United Church Women and adult Bible study classes. Many other activities and committees are available to develop your talents and help reach out to our parishioners and our community.

Rockwood’s engaging services start Sunday at 11:15 a.m.
A nursery operates in the adjoining hall during services.

Sunday School begins at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Youth Group: The Fellowship of the RUC (Rockwood United Church) meets every other Saturday night from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Visit our website for dates and times of special events and meetings.
